
Reweaving The Tapestry 2002-2009~ A 3-day, 2-night gathering for mothers and daughters of all ages that focuses on the needs and gifts they have in common. Together we inquire, explore and celebrate our power as women. During this retreat participants create a compassionate plan for transforming this primary relationship into a natural alliance. Becoming Women 2001 and 2002 & Youth Mentoring Connection– Mentee Initiation Retreat 2004, 2005 & 2006~ A 3-day Rite of Passage retreat for girls that focuses on empowering them as young women coming of age. A ‘Rite of Passage’ is a celebration that marks a girl’s transition into womanhood. It is the beginning of a new stage of consciousness and responsibility, a movement towards the next level of maturity and attaining life skill competencies through the passing on of wisdom, knowledge and experience by trained facilitators and community members. During the retreat girls learn about what it means to be a woman and participate in group dialogue, experiential exercises, art, story telling, physical activities, a ropes course and creative projects. Project Success 2003-2006~ A 4-month supportive action plan for women. Each woman brings her personal project she wants to complete. Together we’ll create milestones, an action plan and an individualized support plan. The group is facilitated by Suzanne Rock Stierle & Colleen Perry.

Young Women’s Council 1999-2005~ Is a 10 week after school program for girls ages 13-18. We use a council format that uses a form a communication where all persons involved take on leadership roles, there’s rotating leadership and sharing of responsibility. During the 10 weeks we cover topics such as, our changing bodies– the hormonal, biological and psychological changes that are occurring, the importance of self care, uncovering our limiting beliefs and values, looking to the future, and creating a dream boards.
Making Peace with Our Body 2002-2005~ A 10 week program transforming our relationship to our bodies. During the 10 weeks we identify significant messages we received from our family, friends and culture about our body, we uncover our own internal beliefs and create a new context to live by.
Unity Bridges, Women Creating Community Thru Cultural Exchange. 2005 A 3-day overnight weekend retreat. Throughout the weekend multicultural skills, tools and resources were offered that reflected an understanding and sensitivity to what it means to connect and relate to communities other than our own, how to build bridges, honor diversity and how we can support each other. During the weekend there were women performers, drumming, ritual, group dialogue, networking, dance and celebration. The retreat was co-facilitated by Suzanne Rock Stierle, Queen Hollins, India and Julia Chavez
Celebrating Our Voices 2003 & 2004~ A Mothers Day Festival that celebrated the difference our mothers have made in our lives and in our communities. Our purpose was to embrace the original intention of Mothers Day, which is best summarized by Julia Ward Howe, author of the Mothers Day Proclamation 1870 as “mothers everywhere rising up together around that which unites us rather than what divides us” The gathering provided a forum for mother to express their personal commitment to their community through networking and the sharing of resources, celebrating the joy of motherhood, and recognizing the power of joining together with women, businesses and organizations with a common purpose. We had over 500 people join the festival, 20 vendors, and 15 performers it was a colorful and joyful event!
Redefining Beauty 2003 & 2004~ A one-day workshop for girls ages 13-18 that focuses on helping them create a positive relationship to themselves. As a group we looked at how our culture currently views beauty and throughout history. We watch Killing Us Softly 3, a movie that shows how the media impacts our ideas about beauty and self worth. The day is filled with fun interactive activities, group dialogue and creative projects.
Gather The Women Event 2003 & 2004~ This one-day events intention was to invite women to demonstrate their courage to risk, and leaving old conformities by joining with millions of others throughout the world, to celebrate women's true worth, to express shared concern for our human family, and to create and support actions that will enable humanity to live together in a balanced, harmonious and peaceful world. The gatherings were held in Los Angeles and was organized and facilitated by Suzanne Rock Stierle & Kelly Sullivan Walden.
Girls Speak Out 2002~ A one-day workshop for girls ages 13-18 that focuses on helping them uncover what holds them back from speaking up and out. We look at cultural influences, peer and family dynamics and personal beliefs. Participants learn new ways to communicate that helps them to speak up with awareness and confidence. The day is filled with fun activities, creative projects, role-play and learning NVC, NonViolent Communication, a technique that reduces conflict and restores connection.
Woman Journeying Within 2003~ A 3-day, 2-night women’s gathering focusing on celebrating our feminine nature. Facilitated with Judith Durek author of ‘A Circle of Stones’ We had 85 participants attend the event.
Women Transforming Communities– Creating Cultural Change 2001
A Multicultural Woman’s Conference led by Sobonfu Some’, Erica Helm Meade and Elena Avila Sanchez. Through story telling and ritual we learned to reconnect to our selves and learned new ways to connect with women of different cultures and backgrounds. A powerful, informational and inspiring experience.
